In Oak Class this week the children have been on a journey to discover the story of “The Gruffalo” written by Julia Donaldson. They have started the unit off by solving a mystery involving a cake and three potential suspects!
They had to follow clues, discuss their predictions and follow footsteps to find out who has eaten their chocolate cake.
Later, children used their five senses to describe the setting of the story and they explored a range of adjectives, such as mysterious and adventurous. We have discussed these adjectives and sorted them into adjectives which describe the personality or appearance.
The children had a lot fun with the story so far; we cannot wait to continue our journey with it next week.
