It’s been a really exciting week in our new home, we’re really thankful to all of the pupils and their families for their support and such a smooth transition to our new school home.
100% of the planned works for the start of the new school year were completed on time and the school opened its newly refurbished doors this week to a very excited group of pupils. Everyone has worked very hard to ensure the refurbished project has run to schedule and we are enjoying getting settled into our new, permanent home here in Dorset Road.
There has been complete refurbishment of the areas being used by Reception & Year 1 essentially creating a whole new safe and fit for purpose learning environment for the children. This week all our Year One’s and two new Reception classes were able to explore and enjoy their brand new classrooms. All in all, the move has been a very successful one and we look forward to the continued growth of Park Community School.
Some building work will continue, as planned, on other parts of the site to complete the refurbishment of the building next year, to make it ready for the ongoing growth of Park Community School. This ongoing work is entirely separate to any of the newly refurbished areas and will not interfere with the school curriculum or calendar or the pupil’s enjoyment or safety in their new school. The continued work will take place in the uninhabited areas of the school building to prepare them for future use in accordance with the scheduled works being overseen by the Education Funding Agency and the contractors that have been engaged.
